Frequently Asked Questions
How long does my hair have to be?
Hair should be at least ¼ inch long—about the length of a short grain of rice. Wait at least three weeks after your last shave for the best results. This ensures the wax can properly grip the hair, making the process smoother and more effective.
How do I prepare for waxing ?
Cleanse and gently exfoliate the area 24–48 hours prior, and avoid lotions or oils on the day of your wax.
If you’re nervous about discomfort, you can take an ibuprofen 30 minutes before. Stay hydrated and avoid caffeine until after your service. Skip workouts, tanning, saunas, right before your appointment.
Don’t worry—it’s never as bad as you think!
What Should I Wear To My Appointment?
Wear loose, breathable clothing after body waxing to help minimize irritation—think maxi dresses in the summer or cozy sweatpants in the winter
How often should I schedule waxes?
Schedule waxing every 4–6 weeks, depending on your hair growth cycle and how long you’ve been waxing consistently. Regular waxing over time helps hair grow back finer and sparser, so maintaining your appointments—even through the winter—is key to achieving lasting results.
Can I get waxed on my menstrual cycle?
Absolutely! You just need a fresh tampon or cup inserted. You may be more sensitive while on your period, so it is suggested to take ibuprofen 30 minutes prior to your appointment just in case
Does getting waxed hurt?
There’s a small amount of discomfort with your first wax, but it’s usually just a quick sting. From my experience with many first-time Brazilian clients, it’s almost never as bad as they expect—and with consistent waxing, it only gets easier over time.
What makes waxing better than shaving?
Waxing removes hair from the root, so results last longer, regrowth is finer, and skin stays smooth without the stubble and irritation that shaving can cause. It’s a win-win!
Can I wax if I’m on medications or have sensitive skin?
Certain medications (like retinols, acne treatments, or blood thinners) and recent chemical peels can make skin more sensitive. Always let your esthetician know so your skin stays safe.
